Transportation of gas is one of the safest modes of transportation, and in particular, the City of Ellensburg’s system has an enviable safety record. The Gas Division produces and issues many safety related items throughout the year for the general public.
The City of Ellensburg is offering natural gas customers the option to install an excess flow valve (EFV) on the gas line serving their property. The purpose of an EFV is to stop the flow of natural gas in the event of a broken service line.

For construction industry safety, the Gas Division is continually addressing excavation issues, minimizing potential damage to its own (and other) utilities, and promoting the “Call Before You Dig” program.
