After School Daily Activities


The Stan Basset Youth Center (SBYC) free-flowing activity philosophy promotes the growth of youth through a wide range of group and individual educational, recreational, technological, and cultural activities.

The Ellensburg Youth Center will be open for an After School program Monday through Friday, from 12:30 pm to 6:00 pm. Youth in 3rd to 8th grade will receive homework help and also participate in fun filled arts and crafts activities, STEM activities, active games and more!

All youth are required to be registered prior to attending the Youth Center. This registration is different from youth registration from previous school years. Youth arriving without registration will not be allowed in the building.

Summer Day Camp Activities 

Youth entering 3rd to 8th grade will participate in fun filled arts and crafts activities, STEM activities, active games and more. Summer Day Camps will be held Monday through Thursday afternoons, with activities from 1:00 pm to 5:30 pm! Check-in is from 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm ONLY; youth arriving after check-in may not be admitted. There are no "re-entry" privileges; youth exiting the program for the day will not be readmitted.

Each Tuesday and Wednesday will include a local adventure! Youth will walk to local parks and attractions for an incredible experience!

Registration is required for each week of camp, with space EXTREMELY limited. The Youth Center will provide all activity supplies for youth, with youth needing to bring only a few personal items including an appropriate mask, snack/lunch, water bottle, and towel/change of clothes (you never know when we'll take advantage of the great weather and play in the water!).

Registration for Youth Center activities is required, with space EXTREMELY limited. Please note, youth consistently missing days MAY be removed from the program to allow youth to allow other youth to attend. If your child/children will not attend for a particular day, or you plan to change your schedule, please notify the Youth Center.

The Youth Center will follow all social distancing and disinfection guidelines, while providing a wide range of fun filled activities. All youth will be required to wear a mask as well as undergo a simple health screening as required by the Washington Department of Health.

Staff and Volunteers


Youth are supervised and instructed by a well trained staff and countless talented, dedicated, passionate volunteers. Parents and community members are always welcome to visit the center and/or volunteer.

Virtual Learning Resources


The Youth Center has compiled a list of Virtual Learning Resources to help engage youth in learning at home. Subjects include Reading, Math, Science, Music, Foreign Language, Nutrition, Physical Education Virtual Learning Resources

    The Youth Center is comprised of a large games room, lounge area, and computer lab.
